Chamber of Commerce to sponsor candidate forum

The Nevada/Vernon County Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a candidate forum Tuesday, Oct. 28, beginning at 7 p.m., for local, state and congressional candidates seeking election this November.
The candidate forum will take place on the campus of Cottey College in the Center for the Arts, Missouri Recital Hall, at Austin and Tower streets. The format for the forum will be an equal time Q & A with pre-formatted questions and will go in order of ballot listing. It is expected to last approximately one and a half hours.
The doors will open at 6:30 and candidates will have campaign literature available as well as to greet and answer questions.
The forum will be moderated by KNEM/KNMO News Director Blake Gazaway.
Candidates running for office on the Nov. 4 ballot have been invited to participate in the forum. The following candidates have agreed to participate:

"The purpose of this forum is to give voters the opportunity to get to know their candidates and have them answer questions specific to the office in which they are campaigning," said Chamber Director Jennifer Eaton.
