Senior center seeks volunteers; front desk, deliver meals
Nevada Daily Mail
Are you looking for a worthwhile way to give back to your community? If so, the Vernon County Senior Center has an immediate need for volunteers to staff the reception desk or to deliver meals to the homebound.
The center needs three drivers to deliver meals to the homebound on weekdays, usually from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. The routes vary, and the center always can use substitute drivers, Center Coordinator Rudi Stevenson said.
The Vernon County Senior Center provides these meals to seniors to help them live independently in their homes.
Also, the senior center needs volunteers to staff the reception desk. Those volunteers would need to be able to handle money, and computer skills would be helpful, Stevenson said.
If one of these volunteer opportunities sounds like a job you would enjoy, contact Stevenson at (417) 667-5847.
